I got out of bed today and had a horrible pain in my neck.
It’s rare, but I have had it a few times before.
When I push myself too hard, especially when cutting corners on sleep, I can get a few different signals that my body is not happy with me. This is one of them.
It’s interesting how God connects things because I was reading a book summary of “The Goal” and one of the main points is that reducing down time is more important than maximizing output.
You can have a machine that is extremely efficient and puts out a lot of products in a short amount of time, but if it randomly stops working for a few hours, it’s probably not that efficient overall. You will actually finish more parts at a little bit slower pace if it allows you to avoid machine breakdowns.
The same is true of humans, only we’re often more fragile than machines.
How can you apply this principle to your life? Is there an area where you could go faster if you went a little slower and avoided “break downs”?
It seems that God keeps using life to remind me both of my dependence on Him and the necessity of taking a “Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast” approach.
